It's also interesting that things are really starting to take shape, even though they've only poured the foundations. You can already make out the screen and simulator locations for the Soarin-like attraction (most visible in the lower center of the 5th photo)

I was one of them. They announced it in 2011 and then nothing happened until 2013 when the showed us a model at the D23 Expo in Japan. So there have been two years without any news or informations. One might think that Disney cancelled it.

I still don't get why they announced it in Japan instead of the US. I'm not sue if Disney is so confident in the project.

It's definitely coming, but it just doesn't seem to fit their typical mode of business in any way

They're still incredibly vague on the details for such a major project (remember all the constant updates and blog posts they gave us for DCA's redo?). We've maybe gotten half a dozen photos of people of people in staged meetings and concept art, but that's about it. Considering all the work that's being done at DAK at the moment for Avatar, Rivers of Light, the Africa Marketplace expansion, Starbucks addition, and table service restaurant (taking over part of Pizzafari), they really haven't been doing a good job with publicity for any of it. Imagine how strong it would be if they could bundle all those projects together. As it is now, guests just show up to the park and are surprised by the construction walls that stretch throughout the entire park (nearly as bad as DCA at its worst)
