Not until recently did they dwindle and i doubt that it has to do with the celebration. It is most likely due to the insecurities right now with money. Everything is getting more and more expensive and at the same time California has been getting some of the worst weather ever. In the 3 digits and very high humidity. this is rare for southern California so early in the summer season.

You have to take in consideration that some people need more then a year to plan for a trip out here and they probably appreciate them prolonging it because it means they have time to see it. And this weekend will be my third and final trip to see the 50th stuff and it doesnt bug me at all. You only turn 50 once. I can't wait to go back when I'm 73 and it turns 100.

If you haven't come to see it yet (and really want to), I think it's definitely worth the while especially with the Pirates Columbia (sic) taking over Rivers of America.. that was sooo much fun! I love "Quill" and I'm not a Columbia fan myself. Stuck on a boat with nothing to do.. that isn't the case when you have Quill or one of the other pirates making it new for you. =) I hope they keep that element of the pirates/ 50th celebration in NOS. IMHO of course.
