But take into account these are projections from the Reedy Creek Development plan and do not reflect the actual DisCo. internal plan.

To all the annual passholders and frequent park junkies who believe we should stop making new stuff and just give tlc to existing attractions, WDI listened to you and the result was space mountain, we are all seeing how that turned out, enough said.

That's me. Should have seen me eating the free food and drinking the free booze on the world's largest cruise ship today with ... some folks that work for Disney/ABC and were doing the same thing! But what you should seriously do (and anyone who reads anything) is READ FOR COMPREHENSION. Nowhere does the blog post state that anything like another park is coming to WDW. If anything it says the opposite. The writer explained quite well why the report is largely a formality. And that the last 10-year report also mentioned that a fifth park was possible. He also pointed out how the last report also left open the addition of smaller additions like water parks, yet Disney shuttered River Country (and later PI during the period). What you should have taken from the story is that Disney has become complete sprawl and blown 'the blessing of size' that Walt had in mind for the Florida property by overdevelopment, especially hotels and timeshares. I guess that's working for them well, since I just got an offer emailed to me offering a 30% discount if I book any Disney deluxue resort between 12/25 to 1/2. The Mouse has less than 3,000 developable acres left in Central FLA. A tiny amount considering they started with 10 times that and most of it has been 'blown' in the past 15 years. <<on a serious note, that timetable seems about right. by 2014 the expansions at dca, mk, and hkdl will be complete, as well as improvemnts in dhs. not to mention a brand new park in shanghai, and two brand new cruise ships and a mega resort in hawaii. i think an announcenmt between 2011 and 2014 and a new park between 2014 and 2018. They'll just be starting to resemble true Disney parks. A DVC/hotel on Oahu isn't a 'mega resort' by any stretch. And FLA needs a whole lot more than one clone and new meet and greets at MK. As to Shanghai, they don't even have a timetable for that yet because they don't have a signed plan yet. Although they are sending a delegation to Orlando the first week in December ... gee, I wonder if anyone I know will be around (calls just went out from Burbank to TDO to make sure the Spirit doesn't get within five miles of any member of the delegation! ;-) ) And seriously, did you actually have a point here? Something about the fans being responsible for Space Mountain sucking more than a fanb...at a WDI party ... oops ... did I say too much? You really have no point and completely misstate what most rational folks believe regarding WDW's future. ~Incompetency: It's the new competency~

An Imagineer looking to get in your pants (this only applies if you're a young male)? Disney isn't building a fifth major park in FLA. You may some day see a third in Anaheim ... and that's a big 'may' ... but Disney has long since reached the point of diminishing returns and has four stale parks to deal with. Sorry to break your bubble. ~Where'd Pierce Go?~

It may or may not be when they projected, but it will be built eventually.
Originally Posted By trekkeruss <<Of course there will eventually be a 5th WDW park.>> JMHO, I don't see the need or the desire for a fifth park. If there ever was one, as Disney builds more and more at DLR and outside of the USA, that need for a fifth park diminishes.
