You know..for authenticity (DisneySea just wouldn't be the same without it!).

All you have to do is look at google maps and see the two gigantic cleared out spaces on property. One could be a resort and the other a theme park. So before you anti-fifth park bashers come on and ruin this thread like you did the last one, come up with a logical explanation for the empty space (new empty space).

You would figure that a new park would be five years in the making from announcement to opening. So, lets say thats in the next year or two, thats 2014-2015. Thats gives disney plenty of time to finish all of their other park enhancements both on the east and west coast and earn money for the new parks. There are so many people who go every year, or every other week if your me and I personally know we are all looking for a new park. For those of you are going to respond with 'I think disney needs to pay attention with fixing their existing parks first', THEY ALREADY ARE. there are projects for all 4 parks going on right now. They are going to do everything they can and then really work on the fifth gate. I know they already started the plans. Anyone have any ideas on what themes and attractions they would like to see?

Disneys waiting list for applicants is about 3 months long depending on the position. They are waiting for positions to become available for everyone that passed the first interview. They could run and brand new park without having a single job fair.

Disney may have 3 month waits for some positions, but they continually are running ads in the paper, and at least 2 people I trust have given me an idea of how short Disney is on staff. They certainly do NOT have enough housekeepers and haven't for some time. If they did, then there wouldn't be the "between 3 and 5" timeframe often given at the front desk when rooms are supposed to be done by 3. I will say that Disney did quite well over Christmas, I would guess a lot of CT's worked a few shifts to keep their status. I don't believe that Disney could easily staff a new park. Wages aren't that great (though benefits are good), housing prices are still too high.

Perhaps that will be different in 5 years. But there just isn't an unlimited supply of people here willing to work for Disney wages. (I actually would be fine doing it if the park was a little closer, but gas prices are also high).

Both areas are being designed and will be overlooked by disney with strict regulations on what can and cna not be built. Disney is also making sure that hotels and large buildings do not go pass a certain height.

Disney is not considering a fifth gate in WDW. The only park that is being designed and is still under big consideration to be built will be the third gate in Anaheim.

And once again from all I've heard there are no plans to breakground on a new park anytime within the forseeable future.
You can listen to some of the people here who actually do know things. Or not.

Really. What's the big project going on right now in the MK? Oh yeah. Nothing. And over at DAK? Yeah, nothing. EPCOT Center did get some TLC, but most of that is done. And , oh yeah, Toy Story Mania is coming to the Studios but RatCoaster has been put on the back burner. So as of now the only thing on the horizon is TSM. With nothing planned as of yet for the 40th Anniversary. Maybe they will have a huge marketing campaign with new signs and collectable paper cups and napkins for the 40th.

Buzz Lightyear opened that year (in March, when the celebration started in May), and Space Mountain reopened after being closed for several years, but everything else was just temporary stuff that they were able to come up with in less than a year. There were two amazing parades, and a ton of little details that showed what Disney used to be known for. If they do something similar for MK (and all of WDW's) 40th, then I won't be too upset. The problem is that they haven't really been showing signs that they will be able or willing to pull something like that off.
