At least Epcot finally has a leader who understands why this is a huge mistake.

It's a shame the marketing department wouldn't give him a nickel to try and throw something together on the smaller scale that would have at least acknowledged it.

OK, that was weird -- but it's really what I get from it.

The good news is that he's doing what he can to acknowledge the 25th birthday of Epcot Center anyway.

Something WILL be happening on that fateful day.

As for myself, I truly hated the fact that they kept the wand and "EPCOT" there.... but, got used to it and now I'm actually bummed it's going.

Did I just say that!!?? I AM a traditionalist, believe me. Bring back Horizons NOW! However, the wand adds a little excitement to the 'ol golfball.

What they truly need to get rid of is the monoliths in the front. Even if I DO have my photo on one of them. It's time for them to GO. Get them out of there and bring back a beautiful fountain or the colored, lighted plexi-glass to the front. Please.

Then of course... bring back Horizons and get rid of any Pixar or Disney Character references. Cause like, you dudes and dudettes ROCK... dude (ugh)

Sylvania is a Siemens company, and rumor has it that the wand was removed in part because Siemens doesn't care for it.

That's one of the big things I missed after the wand came.

When they added the stars on top, there were fears that the lasers would bounce off them and do strange things, so it was stopped. Lasers and other projections have been used since then, but none that went near the top creating anything near the same scale.
