    From the article:

"It is critical that we spread the truth about Obama's fake Christianity so that Christians can defend the truth.

Our concern is only spiritual and we pray for Barack Obama to repent and turn to Christ and His Word."

    And the 7 reasons:

"1. Obama believes there are many paths to heaven

    2. Obama denies the authority of the bible

    3. Obama supports homosexuality

    4. Obama supports abortion

    5. Obama affirms Muslim prayer

    6. Obama is associated with Black Liberation Theology

    7. Obama has no bona fide Christian testimony"

The very premise that Barack is not electable based on the fact that he is not a hard-core, fundamentalist Christinan is disturbing.

Are we electing a pope or a president???

    These people are nuts.

Given my anti-religion tone in other threads I figured it would be assumed what I thought. Apparently not.

For the record: I THINK THESE PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!!!!!

They must live in the "real" America that Sarah Palin keeps talking about -- away from all us Satan-loving fake Americans...

But it really does bother me that you cant just be nonspirtual, I'm not even saying Athiest now, just nonspiritual where you can still believe in a higher power, but dont need to go to a church or mosque to prove your devotion to it. Why does it matter WHAT religion you are?? I ask this on the OTHER board I talk politics and apparently there are more conservative red state people because some think the idea of a nonChristian in office is almost blasphemous.

One thing I liked about Mccain is the guy doesnt spew his religion like Bush. He is what he is, but he doesn bring it up at every rally. I have a feeling thats part of the reason why Palin was bought in. The right wing freaks hated that so he got a right wing nut like Palin to spread the gospels to the group and he was left off the hook for it.

Anyway, I just dont see why anyone wants to run for office when there are just too many hoops to jump, too many fickle people too please, too many barometers, neat little package you have to fit in and lines you cant cross before you even have a shot in hell. Its said what politics has become.

Those people are crazy, none of those 7 points are true. Except for maybe 5, but just because someone affirms someone else's prayer doesn't mean they are affiliated with that religion, it just means they have respect for it.

    Vote Obama.

So sick of people who are so stupid to think that homosexuals are pedophiles. Makes me sick.

But I'm just a dyke-y Girl Scout leader so beware.

He was awesome. GREAT person, very kind and helpful, and compassionate. Back when I was so young, I was going through lots of emotional turmoil after my Mom died. He helped me a LOT. He was someone to talk to. Someone who encouraged me and others to deal with their feelings and confront our worries and work past them. Just really a great adult I was lucky to have around when I was so young and impressionable (by the way, he never tried to "turn us gay", since I'm assuming the insinuations will be forthcoming).

I'm sure the fact that he was gay (he NEVER said so, OF COURSE (thanks Josh and Elder and people like yourselves), but it was obvious) would work against him both as a scout leader and a priest.

But anyway, a very excellent and wonderful human being. Fond thoughts of that guy all around.

And screw the bigots for thinking otherwise.

Any parent who would feel too uptight about a lesbian leader probably wouldn't keep their daughter in the troop long enough to go camping.

Sometimes I do not sleep with my girls but only because we don't have tents big enough for us all to sleep together.

Anyway, it's silly to think of "the tent" as being anymore dangerous than any other situation. The tent isn't the thing that makes the situation irritating. It's that millions of people still believe that a gay male leader will molest their children. It's sad that so many good men have been turned away.

This reminds me of one of my favorite jokes, which I may have told here once before: Two people in Northern Ireland meet for the first time in a pub. After a couple of rounds, one asks the other "Which side are you on?" The response is "Neither - actually, I'm an atheist." "Okay, but are you a Catholic atheist or a Protestant atheist?"

The humor is obvious, but it's probably not far off the mark. It points out how religion is oftentimes used to group people together and define various social associations well beyond the actual underlying religion.
