According to Jim Hill, there's some major changes coming to the Studios. Comparable to the DCA redo.

It would be a shame to lose their talents, but in the grand scheme of everything at WDW it's a mere drop in the bucket

Hopefully they'll be able to find some other show that can highlight their talents. Iger really likes to push for more interactive experiences, so it seems like something that involved improv would be a natural fit

Trust me when I say some of them have more prominent jobs outside Disney than pretending to be judges on a fake singing competition show that ran it's course 6 seasons ago. At least one of those judges is a very well known drag queen named Carol Lee, Central Florida's toast. "She" will do quite well after this mediocre Idol show is gone. Heck!! Carol Lee IS THE SHOW wherever she goes... BRAVA!!!

A property that would see me book tickets TONIGHT to Orlando were a weel-done SW land to suddenly appear in the swamps!

And for the most part, this is why TV shows shouldn't be used for theme park attractions. By the time a show has proven its popularity, a concept is created, and the design is executed, the show is no longer popular any more. Movies are good because they are standalone moments (though the increasing reliance on sequels puts that into debate), but TV shows get cancelled when they're no longer popular. It's a lot more difficult to do that to an attraction/show. See also: the Boudin factory tour in DCA hosted by Rosie and Colin

That said, I seem to recall a short-lived Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show in the early days of MGM that seemed to capture the zeitgeist pretty well, and not outstay its welcome. But with Disney's current insistence that any new entertainment must run for (seemingly) decades and decades to recoup the development cost, TV shows just aren't a practical source of in-park IP right now
