I understand why some here are upset with the location of a DVC at the CR, but that is going to be a money maker. Fantastic location, but it sure is going to jam up the monorail system. I wonder when they are going to let us folks know they are building a DVC there?
Any idea what the menu is going to be like at the Yak and Yeti? I'm sure a lot of thought went into that name selection, but it doesn't sound very appetizing to me.

I've not seen any menu yet, I was actually surprised that the restaurant looked so large. I've not been following it, someone asked if I could take some photos.

I don't expect that the CRV (if that is what it is) will clog the monorails more than the last building, but we'll see. I haven't really liked the drawings I've seen, it looks like it could be huge!

Panda Express bothers me more for calling itself 'gourmet Chinese food' when it's simply mall food court fare.

But Yak and Yeti is just a stupid sounding name ... I wonder what moron consultant came up with that one.

It's supposed to be able to serve 750 people at once between the quick serve and the full serve.

Cuisine is supposed to be Asian ... I would expecy Chinese, Thai, Indian and maybe Japanese type entrees.

Oh, it will have a HUGE impact on the monorails. When you go from a small three-story wing where the rooms hold a maximum of five to a 14-story tower with villas and suites that can house many more ... you're bound to put pressure on the infrastructure.

Sure, some folks might walk to the MK. But most are likely going to be too lazy. And many will be heading elsewhere.

But, hey, Disney can practically print the money on this one and that's what matters.

Google Yak and Yeti and see the results. This is a very common name for restaurants, hotels etc all over Nepal. I dined in the Yak and Yeti restaurant here in Sydney only a couple of months ago (Good food too, on Glebe Street).

I don't totally agree. I have no idea how many units are going to be at the Contemporary DVC (if it is DVC). But the 1 bedrooms (up until now still) only sleep 4, and I'd expect would be around that same 700 square feet that other current 1 bedrooms have. A 400 square foot hotel room at the Contemporary sleeps 5. So it's more room, fewer guests to that room. But we'll see.

That won't be the case now. And you can also bet that this place will run at 100% occupancy year-round unlike CN, which often had empty rooms.

Anyway you look at it, there's going to be more people there. To what extent? Who knows yet. But there'll be more.

Anyone going to the MK can walk just as quickly as they can get a monorail, BUT - if there is a walkway to the main building, that sort of invites more foot traffic that way.

Of course, conventioneers often don't leave the resort to go to the parks. So we'll see. I'm not going to presume one way or the other. If there are a lot more 1 bedrooms than studios, that would help.
