I hate to ask a whole heap og questions in one post but in 2 months (!!!) I'll be travelling to America..alone.
It's my first time flying by myself, let alone being on the other side of the world alone and I didn't know where else to ask some of this stuff...

    1. I know there is a Disneyland shuttle that picks up at LAX and will drop off at HoJo.. I'm pretty sure I don't need to reserve a seat on this but where do I actually board it..
I'll be arriving in the international section from a Qantas flight..if that helps at all?

    2. Up the road from HoJO there is a big target and a few other stores.. is there an easy to catch bus that goes up there? or am I better to just pay for a taxi?

    3. Once I check out of HoJo on Sunday moring, am I able to hold my bags there until I leave Anaheim, like you can before you check in?

    4. Where in the Disneyland area can I send a package from? I want to buy some Disney presents to send to my family back home.. can I send a package from inside Disney or do I need a post office?

    5. I'm not sure yet if I want a 2 or 3 day park hopper.. if I buy a 2 day one, can I upgrade for the third day once inside the park? or do I have to pay for a whole extra day again?

    6. I have a US cell phone I purchased last year from Target.. it's a Att on Go.. or something like that? The credit on it expired in October last year. If there is no credit presently on it, can it still receive calls? and how do I go about recharging it?

    7. How much does a Dole Whip/Dole Whip Float cost?

    8. I have a midnight flight out of LAX, is much open at the airport around this time (like food places)

    9. For domestic travel within the states is there a limit on how much liquid is allowed in hand luggage?

    10. Is vegemite really illegal in America? I don't think I can get through 3 months without it but I've heard customs won't let it in?

Ok, once again I'm really sorry but it's so hard trying to figure some of this out from home. And I'm going to be pretty pushed for time (only in Anaheim from June 12-14)

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Emma

Wait under the green sign for the big Disneyland Bus. I think it arrives every 30-40 minutes depending on the freeway traffic. And it takes 30-40 minutes to get to DL.Be sure to have HoJo's address and phone # It is 1380 South Harbor in Anaheim,Ca. and the local phone is 7147766120. I wonder if the front desk can help you with mailing items. I know Disney will mail purchases but I doubt you will buy all your souvenirs in one location. Maybe a LPer that lives in Anaheim knows the answers to this and other ?s. Not sure about vegemite. Is it a powder or liquid? It seems you can only carry small 3oz size liquids in your carry-on luggage. And it must fit in a medium size ziploc bag or clear plastic bag.

    2. Yes, OCTA Route 43 goes up and down Harbor Blvd about every 15 minutes most of the day.

Just walk south toward Disneyland, the bus stop is just before you get to the Captain Kidd Restaurant (which you do NOT want to eat at!).

Catch the 43 Northbound about 3 miles to Orangethorpe. You get off in front of an In-n-Out Burger (You DO want eat here!). Takes about 20 minutes and cost $1.50 per adult.

This shopping area has not just a Target, but the Disney's Character Warehouse, an outlet store for park merchandise. Plus Henry's is a great place to grab some groceries, plus many other stores, some of which are the discount/outlet version.

    3. Yes, Hojo's is happy to hold your bags, I have done it many times. (Safer than leaving it in your car).

    4. Your best bet, there is an official US post office near HoJo's on Ball Road, you might want to take a cab. Also, check with the front desk at HoJo's, they might know of a better option.

    5. I recommend buying a 3 day ParkHopper in advance at Disneyland.com and using the e-ticket/print at home option. It is just $46 more than a 2 day, and cheaper than in the parks.

    6. Your best bet is to just buy another "throwaway" cell phone at Target, they are cheap, and your old phone is inactive, and the number is no longer valid.

About the cell phones.. I'm really suprised it's more or less a dead phone. Here, if you run out of credit, even for a few months, you just re-charge your account and it springs back to life. It's probably not even worth me buying a new one because most of my time in America I'll be working as a counselor and can't have my phone on me anyway.

Does anyone know how I would go about buying a call card.. to call Australia from?
I bought one from a vending machine in vegas last year but it was pricey..

Be careful, some cards have a weekly Maintenance fee, which might eat into your budget.

But you can find a card with no maintenance ff for less than 2 cents per minute.

    <a href="http://buy.phones-cards.com/p/buy.php?idcountry=7" target="_blank">http://buy.phones-cards.com/p/...ountry=7</a>

Also watch out for Hotel fees, you might prefer to use a Pay Phone instead, but those also usually has an extra charge of about $1 charged to your phone card.

Also, will there still be two Fantasmic's a night this summer?

So the answer is, you MIGHT be able to do it, but probably not.

And during busy PEAK Summer hours (lat June to mid-August), you will get 2 Fantamsic's a night, 9 and 10:30 PM. (Fireworks at 9:25 PM, to try and keep the Fantasmic! crowd in the NOS area to prevent crowd issues).
