I have called the HoJo and the $54 rate is available for those days. So..I have a few questions.. 1) Can we take a shuttle of some sort from the airport to the hotel to avoid renting a car while we are in Disney? 2) Is there somewhere near the HoJo where we CAN rent a car on Friday and return it to LAX on Monday? 3) Should we purchase the 2 day hopper pass or is one day in the park sufficient with 2 small children? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

The first being looking at the price to rent a car for the time you'll be there. I don't think for four days it would be cheaper than a shuttle, but if you need car and booster seats, it may well be. If you still want a shuttle, there are a few to choose from, right from a big bus, to a small bus, and a limo! Try Primetime shuttle, or the Super Shuttle. 2. I don't know 3. I would recommend the two day park hopper, because then if one of the children reaaaallly needs to leave and go back to the hotel, you're not pushing them to stay (because you only have the one day). You can go at a more leisurely pace. Hope that helps!

Or, look online at sites like Travelocity for rental cars only, to see if there's an option. Budget, Avis, and Enterprise all have their own sites, too. I know when I worked at Budget in Napa, we rented to customers, who then drove the car to one of the local airports. All the local rental locations would "borrow" cars from one another, and it was my job to go pick them up. LOL So it's very much a possibility. Reserve early, and instead of picking up on Friday, pick up Thursday afternoon, so you'll have a better chance of getting the car you actually reserve.

The customer service was excellent!! At LAX you have to take the Enterprise shuttle (free) to where you pick up the car, but it looks like at John Wayne you pick up the car right at the airport (check this out - I have never done it) I think the two day hoppers too. That way you can take it easy and enjoy.

Just a thought. Have a wonderful time!

I have heard there is a car rental place in DTD - but have never checked. You may want to call the Disneyland number and see the price. I know sometimes when my mom has rented cars it was cheaper to rent the car from the airport for the week rather than pay for the shuttle (i think they charge per person) and then a weekend car rental. Check your entertainment book for the car rental and compare the week with the shuttle costs and weekend rental. The kids will need carseats so if you can bring yours from home that is usually the best way to do it - as you know how those work....

The added convenience was worth the price difference. On our last trip, we picked up our car at LAX, and returned it to SNA, so it IS possible to pick up at one spot and return at another. I agree with a previous poster...I'd also consider a 3 day pass. At LEAST get a 2 day, however. I think it would be pretty difficult to do much with 2 little ones and only a 1 day pass. Whatever you do, have a terrific time! 74 more days for me!!!!!!!
