I haven't noticed a urine smell. It would be nice if Polly's was open. That would be a great place to sit in a rocker and have an ice cream. With no food offering there is no draw for adults without kids.

BTW one year, maybe 2003, we wandered into a saloon near liberty tree and there was a show on stage. Haven't seen it since. There doesn't seem to be anything in that building as I remember it. Am I remembering correctly. Seems like we might have had ice cream there too.

It was always a wonderful place to sit on the porch after an hour or so of exploring and chow down on chicken or a basic sandwich and lemonade ... and they killed it because WDW's 'leadership' team is all about dumbing down the WDW experience and taking away all of the little details that made the place what it was.

Instead they believe timeshares and marketing campaigns are the way to go ... and sadly so does Bob Iger.

So much detail ... texture ... color ... has been removed from WDW and MK is the worst because it is the oldest park and where the magic all began in Central Florida.

The Diamond Horseshoe Review was a very popular, high quality, western dance/comedy/music show with a unionized work force of professionals. It was killed in 2002 for no reason other than to save money and cut quality. It was replaced with a foamhead show that lasted about six month. That was in turn replaced by a foamhead meet and greet.

Since then, the facility is used at busy times as a food service location (usually buffets when DDP is free and at holiday times).

It's still intact. It was in the freezer for a couple years, tastes like cough medicine to me.

I almost wish! I've been od-ing on DayQuil the last 3 days, so didn't dare have a glass of Reisling with supper. I was in bed by 7:30 last night, and it probably won't be much later than that tonight.

Happy, I have a phone # for you for Locks for Love.

My friend Spirit, it's hyperbole like this that makes me doubt your sanity. There isn't a single disney executive who has ever said "Hey, let's dumb down the WDW experience and take out all the little details that make the place what it is". I am convinced that their main concern is money. And their main way to keep that flowing is to cut services and quality and menu items to the point where they're still making money and people are still flocking to the parks. Now, their determination of where that magic confluence of cutbacks and customer satisfaction is is completely different from mine and yours. But while they definitely want to make money, they also would be stupid if they were INTENTIONALLY making decisions to tick off the customers.

Of course, I don't believe ANYONE at WDW says ''Hey, let's dumb down the WDW experience and take out all the little details that make the place what it is.''

But that's the result of their actions.

It's kind of like a doctor who misdiagnoses a patient or mistreats them and they wind up seriously injured, maimed or dead. That was never the goal, but it's the result just the same.

The goal is all about money ...usually their own, which is all tied in with the numbers they can produce.

If they thought they could do it by raising quality and adding details, then they'd likely do it.

But that's not the business model they are following.

It's all about cutting, Danny ... and it's been that way since the mid-late 1990s ... through great times, good times, bad times ... doesn't matter ... it's always cutting 'fat' ... and that 'fat' has never been in the exec suites (at least until recently) or with consulting contracts.

It's always cuts that wind up affecting guests and cast ...

They may not have said it, but they sure have done it.

Hmmm - seems like we're saying the same things!

Hyperbole always bothers me. I don't want to get into a political discussion, so please, nobody react to this. But I hate it when Rush will say things like "The Democratic Party wants to keep you scared and poor and freaking out - that's how they maintain control!" Now, you might lean Republican or Democrat, but you can't seriously think that anyone in government wants to keep people broke and scared. It's ridiculous rabble rousing to make an extreme point. I just wish people could speak the facts, or at least their rational understanding of the facts, without the hyperbole. But that's just me . . .

It seems to be the common practice in a lot of third world countries, so it's not necessarily hyperbole then.
