Joe Scarborough made two important points. First, he said that Republicans (he was a Republican congressman himself) got elected because they said you couldn't trust Democrats with national security, then they out a CIA agent. Second, he pointed out that if James Carville and the vice-president's chief of staff in 1997 had outed a CIA agent in a time of war, they would have been lynched by conservatives.

It was refreshing to hear another conservative (thankfully there have been others) showing their disgust over this action, instead of splitting hairs over whether she was really undercover. It's sad to see some conservatives pay lipservice to national security and pretending to love their country by slapping a flag on their car, while not caring about the things that really hurt it.

There are some people, thankfully, that know when it's time to put partisanship aside and have the courage to stand up for certain values even when it doesn't tote the party line, or when it's their guy that's in trouble.

Several Democrats, for example, voted to impeach Bill Clinton over perjury. Many Republicans do NOT think blowing a CIA operatives cover is okay, no matter which side is involved.

It makes me wonder, when someone excuses away something like this, and then wants to rant about the war on terror or patriotism or supporting the military, how they could ever hope to be taken seriously on the subject.

It's OK with you that Joe Wilson lied ( according to a bi partisan senate commitee ) and that he changed his story that Niger was indeed approached by Iraq regarding uranium?

Wait until Joe Wilsom and the press have to start answering questions during the Libby trial. It's all going to come out that Wilson, his wife, the press, and the CIA are the ones that have committed lies and unethical behavior, not the White House.

    Just wait...

Beau, this has nothing to do with *who* outed Plame. Quit trying to spin this by going back to Joe Wilson. It's a separate issue.

The question is, was it ok to broadcast to the world that Valerie Plame worked for the CIA? The other question is, if the political parties and the situation were reversed, would you be so willing to defend Bill Clinton, James Carville, and Al Gore?
