So it wasn't a one-time thing. I know Sharpie pulled their sponsorship last year, which meant no more free markers--they may have been underwriting the cost of the balls as well. (The idea was to write your score on the ball as a keepsake.)

I asked a CM back in the early 80's and he told me they didnt have anymore and had stopped giving them out.
