We have dertermined that the casue of the misfired pyro was do to light rain early that day that got into the barrels of the second round of pyro and soaked right through the side and bottom of the barrels thus leaving the side and bottom week to vulnerable to the high temperature of the launched pyro which made them not go up but go out and down. We now are going to replace all launching barrels with a stronger barrel type. Right now all of the pyro barges have a mix of pvc pipe. wood barrels and plastic barrels. There has never been a problem before with these barrels. The ones in the torch were the first ones to have a problem since the show started. All barrels are now going to be pvc pipe. This happened on Tues Jan 17 peformence not to many people noticed it though but i had a few come up to me that were the last ones to get out of the wrold showcase area who while waiting to leave started to watch us move the barges and globe off the lagoon and check all the barrels for any fireworks that did not fire during the show. I was on a boat checking the perimeter barrels around the lagoon. I was close enough for them to talk to me. They said to me, "where those fireworks coming out of the top of the torch supposed to shoot out and down?". I said no it was a technical glitch. And they said ohh. So if there was anyone there that night and say them misfire that is what happened. We replaced only the barrels in the torch for tonights show but all of the barrels will be replaced with pvc pipe for tommorows show.
