Degree of difficulty was much higher for all of the men to begin with. That said...I didn't see the big deal with this show that the rest of America did.

Take comfort in the fact that all the other participants in this "contest", being relatively famous people with agents and stuff, were well-compensated for their efforts. Most reality shows just exploit 'em and spit 'em out without any compensation.
