"It was $600 and that was the price I was willing to pay for it." Wow. My first reaction was "what kind of idiot?", and second was "boy, Apple is about as close to a true cult as any company can be!".

Oh wait, I forgot that I use the built in video iPod for music and music videos, I even listen to an audio book now and then, I use it for a contacts list, and I recently watched Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy on it while waiting in school car rider lines. Oh and yeah, I use it as a phone. I was concerned with the battery life, pffft it's awesome. I was concerned with durability. It is a little less durable than some, but not like its made of glass. I was very concerned with the touch keypad, I love it!!! I was extremely concerned with the speed of the Edge internet network, it's slower than DSL but certainly much faster than dialup. It's adequate. It's not that Apple lovers is made up of a cult with blind zombie followers, they just make really cool stuff. And you know what won me over? 2 things... They always deliver on promises, and they take care of you after the sell. I'm getting $100 back and so is everyone else who bouht at the old price. I'm not saying no one else does it better than Apple, but I'm more than happy. And yes, I realize the point of the OP isn't the iPhone but the fact that the therapist needs "help." LOL But being an Apple Cult member, I had to reply. ;-P

If you want to take the trouble though, you can probably sell that credit on ebay for around 95%...then it's cash. **It was cool that Steve Jobs decided to offer the $100 apple Store coupon for those how bought one first.** Not "cool" really, he was bowing to public outrage on this one... Notice the timing...first the price slash (that's more than a cut, folks), and then TWO DAYS later a store credit deal? Coincidence? If not, why not announce both at the same time. In any case, investors do NOT like it. Apple stock has been plunging mercilessly since the announcement. People are realizing that the iPhone isn't selling as well as they'd hoped (that much is obvious...you don't slash prices 10 weeks after roll out if not...no matter WHAT Steve Jobs says). p.s. on the flip side, I'm freakin jealous of all you iPhonnies...if I were stateside I'd also be one of the sucker, er, customers who bought on day one. However, this little manouver would have ticked me off a bit more than it seems to have ticked you guys off though. Anyway, it's weird to have a gadget in America (for once) way cooler than anything you can get in Japan!
