The Jungle Cruise is to become The Jingle Cruise! Get it?

Here's the note from a few days ago that Lutz had....

    >>"Editor's Note: October 16, 2013: Disneyland Holiday Cruise: TDA is working on the final phases of a stealth plan to add one more Christmas overlay to Disneyland this season. Dubbed the "Jingle Cruise", it features a decorative holiday overlay to the original Jungle Cruise with the skippers delivering a new spiel and holiday jokes. It doesn't have the big budget that the Haunted Mansion or Small World holiday overlays get, but it could be clever with the right skipper at the helm."<<

    What do y'all think?

It could be fun. And the name Jingle Cruise is punny already.

I remember Small World and Haunted Mansion being very sleepy, aging E Tickets before their holiday versions came along. Now they are the big thing to get on during a busy time of year. I think they may be trying to do the same with Jingle Cruise.

If this is even happening, of course. Disney hasn't confirmed or mentioned anything, it just showed up out of nowhere on Micechat last week.

I think it's a good idea because people will likely love it, although I'm not a big fan of holiday overlays. Small World is pretty good, but I do not like HM.

(So is the Haunted Mansion for that matter.) They really oughtta leave the Jungle alone keep the jingle where it belongs--on Santa's sleigh!!!

Disneyland will never be completed as long as there's imagination in the world. Well, pack up the construction equipment, cause they're done.

They still do the Country Bear Christmas Show in Tokyo Disneyland though. I've seen it and even though all the dialogue is in Japanese it is still just as cute as ever. That's a holiday overlay that stands up to the test of time.

Unless you are Team Disney Orlando, which only wants to build more DVC timeshare units.

The Japanese still know how to celebrate Christmas with the bears though.

Am I the only one who thought the Country Bear Christmas show was pretty lame? It was worse than Vacation Hoedown.

That said, I don't think it would nessecarily be horrible. I think it could be fun if they added in 2-3 holiday-related jokes, since the skippers are always changing their speils anyway. I wouldn't want to see them add any holiday-related props to the scenery, since it wouldn't make any sense in the jungle theme, but I see nothing wrong with updating the dialogue a little. And that way, if it's a horrible failure, they can just switch back to the regular jokes without any problems

I love the JC no matter what. Although WDW is better!

This is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. Much as I love the Jungle Cruise, seeing it overlaid like this would really kill it for me should I ride it when its like that. Sounds like if they go through with this, I'll just be more inclined to ride the Haunted Mansion Holiday and even the overdone Small World overlay. If I do go to D-land this holiday season, I'll "skip" out on the Jungle Cruise if it's done up like this. However, as always, I will ride every time I go the rest of the year. Really hope this dumb-a-- idea won't kill the appeal of the original ride for anyone.
