Those 'tickets' give you a seat in the first couple of rows behind the walkway on the lower level. The seats are great because they are slightly elevated and the parade passes right in front of you.

There was definately some kind of ticket involved last time, but now that I know there are no tickets the lack of information on the web about how to get them makes a little more sense. (Our youngest is not yet 3, so we try very hard to minimize walking and waiting times)
