Why? well I wanted to see if I could wear her clothes. I wanted to see if we were the same size.

I have gone through my husband's stuff before (dresser, wallet, truck, etc.). I would do it again anytime too. The reason? Pretty much the same reason wahooskipper went through his girlfriend's dresser, though my outcome was a bit different (no not the frilly things).

I also used to snoop through my mom's closet at Christmas time when I was a kid. As a 10 year old I just knew that she bought me "Windsong" perfume but it was for my aunt.

My mom was always big on teaching us about respecting people's privacy and property so it's just not something I've ever felt compelled to do.

I suspect that a person once went through my things but I have no real proof. It's a devastating feeling that your privacy was violated.

I took over someone's office. They didn't clean it out even after I politely and not so politely asked them to do it. I found a lot of personal items that I did not look through but did put aside for her.

I also found that the girl before her here was also messy and left a lot of personal stuff about in various file cabinets mixed in with other files, even though this was never her office. This other person is no longer with our company. She was known for being awesome at her job at the same time our company did not pay her for what she is worth. She was courted by many studios, but she stayed with us for 15 years.

I found an opened paycheck receipt (we have direct deposit) from 2000 and I just had to look. I know it was wrong. I know that I did avoid temptation for the first four other stubs I found. I just HAD to see how underpaid she was and at the time, I figured that it was from six years ago so it didn't count.

After I looked, I felt very ashamed. She seriously was not paid what she was worth and I hate that I know that now.

    Would you have looked?

I couldn't avoid it, I took a quick peek down at it without being too obvious.

Medical and health information, a personal diary, financial information, sexual escapades, you name it. With the exception of two people, all of these people left to move or work somewhere else. They had given two weeks notice and yet in that time did not delete or remove this information from their computers.

We also got into the habit of searching our son's room because we had found drugs more than once. Felt fully justified there.

I was an adult when I found out that my older sister read my diary (when she was an adult) and told my parents that they should too. They still didn't. She was dead before I found this out so I could not confront her but I felt really violated. She had no justification.
