I'm really excited this year, because from my new house I have a perfect view of the fireworks from my deck, plus you can look out across Denver and see the other firework displays too. When it's Fourth of July it is officially summer for me.

Christmas is a very close 2nd, I also decorate like crazy but I just switch up all my Halloween orange and black for Christmas red and green :)

Thanksgiving is the one holiday gathering we have at our house. On that day the decorations are are Thanksgivingish with all my Christmas Dept 56 villages up. I thought the family would think I was nuts but they enjoy looking at my villages and we always say that it's snowing someplace ;)

We go to Christmas Eve service at church and then out to dinner. DGS gets to open a present or two before bed but the rest is left for the morning. I make cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast and we usually drive to the coast for Christmas day with my sisters and their families.

I suggest you all come alone and join in the fun. It's activity-packed, and there is something going on every weekend.

A close second is 4th of July. The closest Saturday to the 4th I go down to LA to my friend's annual all night poker party. On the day we usually go to another friends house for a bb-q pool party. When it gets dark we either light off fireworks in the cul-de-sac in front of her house or walk down to the beach for a bon-fire and fireworks. We can usually see or hear the municipal fireworks from her house.

I also like Thanksgiving and Christmas because it's a time for the family to get together (which doesn't happen often because we live in California, Arizona and Pennsilvania).

Don't worry, AD, if your kids are anything like mine, they will never be too old for it. Brit's almost 18 and we both still dress up!! The only thing you'll miss is the parade itself, but by that time you'll have a niece or nephew or grandkid to share it with all over again.

Needless to say...Halloween is my favorite as well.

I love Thanksgiving because it's just a meal and my family/friends enjoying eachother's company. It's also Tamale weekend.

I LOVE decorating and celebrating Christmas from a spiritual standpoint and from what I believe is the good will and generosity that can be spread through out the Holiday Season.

So the bigger the better for me, more parties, more dinners, more food!

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. For us Thanksgiving is the beginning of the holiday season, which is our favorite time of year.

For me, hands down Christmas. I love the entire month of Christmas music, and everything that comes with the holiday.
Christmas Eve before the DS’s go to bed, and after we set our cookies and hot chocolate for Santa, and reindeer food on the lawn, I read “Polar Expressâ€.(Each year, I try and read the last page without crying. Oh well, maybe this next Christmas I can do it.) Normally on Christmas day, we open up presents in the morning at our house just the 4 of us. Then we go to whichever grandparent’s house gets the boys for that year. Every other year we spend it at my parents, the other spent at DH’s parent’s house.
