Sixteen hours of labor, alot of it back labor. My doctor finally said, this could go on and on and it's not looking good and I'd like to do a C-section. Thank God I said.

Serioulsly the most overwhelming, not escapable pain I've ever had. Knee replacements no fun, but didn't compare to labor.

I would also say it is the most rewording. I was in labor for 8 hrs with my second and wished I was having a c-section. But when I saw her it was well worth all the pain.

I had back labor too, with both kids. It was even more painful than the actual birth process.
I had loooong labors followed by just a few minutes of pushing, but oh, those hours leading up to the pushing really sucked!!!!

Back in 1995, three weeks after my son was born, I suffered a stroke. In trying to determine what was wrong with me, before they decided it was a stroke, they did a spinal tap on me. That was the most painful thing I've ever been through...and since then I've had a rather unfortunate series of nasty medical events, but I still remember the spinal tap as the worse -- plus you get to have an incredible headache afterwards, like "free gift with purchase."

Last summer I was sick with meningitis and had a sinus infection at the same time. The back of my head hurt so badly that I spent most of the day alternating between throwing up and crying. I finally said "I have medical insurance! Why am I suffering?" I had my husband take me to the the ER...where they have the good drugs. They were able to stop the pain but I ended up taking 3 rounds of antibiotics before I got better.

Roughly equivalent, but probably worse, was a kidney stone, which went undiagnosed for over a month. It was the size of a dime, so the attacks when it was trying to move were beyond excruciating--the only time I've ever vomited from pain.

I thought that was the worse, only about a month ago when I suffered a pinched nerve in my back. Aye yi yi, this has been the worst.
