I was wondering if they ever matched the outfits, or if they had always just had whatever they felt like for the CM's, no matter what the video looked like.

same with Mission to Mars. i would assume that i visited these two attractions, because i have memories of almost every other attraction in the park. i don't know why my family would of skipped these two.
as for star tours, never been a fan. i like the concept, but it makes me a bit nauseous.

Well, I know I saw the Mars one, but I'm not sure about the moon. If I saw them both, they must have been very similar because I don't remember differences.

dresswhites, I’m guessing that if you can’t recall it, you never went on it. In 1967 it was very impressive. At the end of it’s run, it wasn’t well maintained and it became very shoddy. This was before there was a park wide problem with maintenance that came some years later. I think that how shoddy it became would have left an impression as well.

    Now for something completely different.

Does anyone have, or has anyone seen the ATIS DVD that is a CGI recreation of the ride?

I have not and because it has received rave reviews I’m seriously thinking about getting it from the LP Store, but I’d like to see if anyone here at LP (preferably someone who rode the original Monsanto version) has seen it.

    Anyone?

I got a copy of this. It is very well done and is extremely nostalgiac to watch. The time that went into it is evident. It is a bit expensive for something you will not watch a lot but I thought it was worth it. I showed it to a few friends and they were really impressed as well.

Maybe if you had said Rocket Jets I would have been impressed.

Flight to the Moon and Mission to Mars only D and C's? Those were the most believable attractions to me. Even as well done as many of the other attractions were (and are), inside those two, I could really believe that it could really happen and feel that it was really happening to me at the time.

I bought this last year, and it is worth the money!!! It has two ways to watch; a first person view and a third person with audio commentary.

It was amazing to see what they did in 1967 with some lighting effects and some projectors. I too remember riding this and was freaked out by the miniature people going through the tube.

(The California Museum of Science and Industry at Exposition Park in L.A. was my favorite museum, too... I think it's because of my telephone company upbringing! I loved the AT&T displays in Tomorrowland! *LOL*)

    Me too!!

We lived in the Bay Area, and when my Dad took us down to Disneyland every other year, he made a point of spending a couple of days at DL and a couple of days at other attractions and this was one we frequently went to. So I always associate it with happy times and DL. I remember the AT&T display at the museum and enjoyed it a lot.

I loved the rose garden, too... That whole area was so beautiful. I've heard that it's kind of unsafe down there now. That's a shame. I still want to take Mr. Alice sometime. :)

And thanks Schmitty, for bringing up the ATIS video... I just ordered it. Yay!

If I were you, I wouldn't go for a liesurely walk alone through the neighborhood after dark, but it's really nothing to be afraid of during the day. The rose garden is currently closed for pruning and fertilizing, but you can still look over the rail, you just can't go in. (although everything looks dead, so I'm not sure why you would want to go in). If you do ever head over there, you should definately give me a holler, since I'm living about a 5 minute walk from there (at USC, the less creepy side of the museum block).
