It would be good if there were more to the tree than there is. Maybe if the leaves changed colors throughout the day(the whole circle of life thing), or if there was a way to go up in it like an observation deck.

Zoo is very cool, much better than the Denver Zoo. Garden of the Gods is spectacular. And The ProRodeo Hall of Fame is also interesting. Sounds like you guys are doing sort of a staycation. We used to love to go up to Estes Park until it got too crowded. Then we took our weekend out to Manitou Springs. We also liked Grand Lake. It was cool to see the head waters of the Colorado River. To think it starts as a little bubbling spring and creek and ends at the Gulf of Baja via the Grand Canyon is awesome.
Sorry for the side track, I just miss Colorado a bunch.
Oh and the tree of life concept art is very cool. What we got pales in comparison, but at least we got something pretty cool anyway.

Re; Tree of Life, I like what we got much better. The drier Egyptian theming would have left me cold. Not much of a Middle East kind of guy but I love the rain forest/jungle/tropical look.

There is no doubt in my mind that Joe Rohde is of the greatest story-tellers that WDI has ever produced. A remarkable talent.

However the most interesting point that I took from the interview was how Joe managed to deal with budget difficulties and the constantly changing menu requirements. Many people have criticized senior imagineers (usually executive producers) for failing to deliver on a level expected from Disney. Think DCA/WDSP but Joe was able to deal with an ever-decreasing budget to still get the balance right between a strong opening day menu with incredible attention to detail and the need to meet the mandatory requirements of a Disney theme park.

For those that aren't subscribers to Tales we will be featuring an abbreviated version of the Joe Rohde interview on LP.com in the coming weeks.

Meant to say that the article will also feature some of the other exclusive artwork pieces we got from the WDI archives.

It was a fantastic issue with great insight, tre cool layout and very legible type setting. I am very happy with my subscription. I encourage others to get a subscription.

    Thanks for your good work.

You make a very good point about Animal Kingdom's offerings in the midst of budget tightening. I am grateful Joe is at the helm and overseeing this park. The park's future seems solid with his guidance and involvement.

LOL - not a problem at all. I'm just as pleased as punch that the last two issues have been so universally praised. I really do think we are hitting our stride at the moment. We have several announcements coming up that will also (hopefully) bring us a whole new audience.

I'm always open to suggestions! Rhett is returning to our fold for Issue 13 but we are always willing to listen to ideas from other writers.
