The high school then was a magical time. We just beginning to taste freedom from our childhood. Some of us could drive and we found new independence. Jesus Christ, Superstar had just come out and were rocking to religious ideas! I found a friend from this time and it was great re-connecting.

Of course, you must be careful with Facebook and strangers, but so far I have found friendship in its midst.

I also spent an hour chatting to a friend from high school last week on facebook...I havent seen her for 25 years.

He was the most fun, crazy person, and it kept me smiling for a couple days, remembering old times. While he lives far from me now, I look forward to getting together with him in the future.

    It's really fantastic!

My record (so far) is two old friends from my junior high school days! Oh, and also a "long lost", somewhat distant relative that I used to hang out with from around age 4-5 or so lol.

I seem to be a magnet for old "friends" who are trying to recruit people for religious beliefs or Amway (sorry if you sell Amway.) 25 years ago we ended up changing our phone # because of a couple of old classmates who wouldn't leave us alone.

So my question with Facebook is, is there a way to choose who you care to "talk" to?

You can make your page as private as you want. Most have theirs only viewable to friends, others are open to everyone . You can also alter the settings for none friends to be able to send you a private message or not. Or even to be totally none searchable ( I did that for my son)
