Week after week, Mr. Caruso delivers those zingers that leave everyone else in the show stunned into silence, unable to match wits with his cagey delivery -- complete with the unexpected random sentence-pause. And he has raised the art of putting on a pair of sunglasses into something they'll be teaching at acting schools centuries from now. The camera work is worthy of an expensive Lexus commercial, everyone is bathed in dark, moody, atmospheric lighting, even on the beach. Thank you, Mr. Caruso, for making Monday nights something to look forward to! Here's an appetizer for anyone who isn't recording and archiving this show week after week after week like I do .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =_sarYH0z948

Originally Posted By Kar2oonMan >>that it was a breakthough performance<< That's certainly true. I'll take it a step further and declare that week after week, he goes where few other actors dare in terms of his performance. I think the writers on the show are totally in on the joke, too. No way could a professional team of writers keep coming up with those lines episode after episode and be unaware that they are 100% American cheese slices.

Winning Oscar's back to back portraying totally different characters is very impressive to me. Cast Away blew me completely out of the water because at least half of that movie was completely without dialog and yet he was able to convey every emotion possible without speaking. Great Movie and a great actor.
