Orlando IAP is also listed as the shuttle comes right across town blowing everybody out of bed with the double sonic booms.

Actually it was Don Beach who started the Tiki Bar Culture. Here's a link to a very interesting article from American Heritage Magazine. One of the highlights in it is an explanation of why Polynesian drinks are made with rum, when rum is associated with the Caribbean not Polynesia.

I apologize for not knowing how to work that tiny url thing. Please cut and paste as necessary.

LMFAO! For communion/sacrament/eucharist (or whatever the hell you call it) may I suggest Casa Noble and flautas? And instead of listening to a sermon we can watch Ohio State football!

Now that's my kind of religion. Count me in! I'll worship at ChurroMonster's feet anyday.

OK you got me. Don the Beachcomber brought Tiki to America, but Trader Vic is really the one to take it national and really started the "Tiki Culture". There is een a tip of the hat to Don the Beachcomber on the Trader Vics website.
I would like to try one of Don the Beachcombers signiture drink. The Zombie. Always one of my favotites.
I was checking out Critiki.com and it is a fantastic site for info.
I wonder if Don or Vic were friends of Walt's. I would imagine that Walt ate at both Don the Beachcombers and Trader Vics prior to building Adventureland in 1955.

It looks like a cheap strip mall in Barstow. Is the windmill supposed to represent "whimsy"? Because if it is, it's not really working.

It's also a bad sign when they are trying to make a mall look better by sketching in the front fender of a 1957 Chevrolet into the sketch. Cause God knows the actual car parked in front of that ugly, bland strip mall will be a rental 2008 Ford Taurus.

Seriously, is this really something they are building at WDW? Why would they make it so ugly and cheap and bland? I thought they learned their lesson from DCA?

Who the heck is running things out there in the swamp anyway?

Bubba Gump's was maybe one third full, busier than it's first few days but definitely not crowded.

Cheesecake Factory has also now open, and for the first time in my life I saw a Cheesecake Factory at dinner time that was nearly empty. It was creepy.

I think the real test will be during the two weeks around Christmas. If these restaurants can pull in a crowd then, they will be fine. Otherwise, it could be a long, cold winter until the rest of the mall opens in May. These restaurants are just entirely cut off from 95% of the Disneyland and Convention Center traffic in the current state. Until GardenWalk opens, they might as well be in Siberia.

It's obvious that the residents of the crack-den sleazy motels on Katella aren't really the Cheesecake Factory type of folks. And the tourists don't know the places exist, don't know how to get there via a four block walk down deserted streets, or simply don't want to bother.

GardenWalk needs to open fully, and Disney needs to move forward with building those two GardenWalk hotels that Al Lutz mentioned several months ago were being planned for that mall.

How can you tell what it even looks like from those drawings? I got almost nothing out of them.

Um, what? Is there a car parked in the sky? I see no fender.

Our first church service will be at Tortilla Joe's Cantina at 4 pm on Sunday. All believers will be there or be condemned to an eternity of DCA. As Bother Eighthdwarf mentioned our sacred snack will be Casa Noble anejo and flautas. Bring cash. Your prophet demands to leave a good tip!

Um, guys, there are more than one picture. Use the arrows directly above the picture to go to the next or previous illustration. Weather or not you glean anything from those additional pictures is up to you.

That's how Disney discribes their new development. It an interstate exit shopping center designed to compete with the outlets.
Spirit, upon further research, I withdraw my approval of this project. Just like at the All Stars. They insult lower income people by assuming that they shop at the outlet mall because they LIKE the outlet mall. In fact so much so that when they vacation at Disney World they would actually want to STAY at the outlet mall.
