Has anyone stayed here? How is it? And is it reastically walkable to Disneyland from there? I know there is/was an entrance right across Katella from the Convention Center but I've never used it before - if it's open, does that shorten the walk much?

I've never stayed at the Hilton, but I have stayed at the Marriott. The free bus worked well enough, making walking to or from the park unnecessary.

I don't know how many days you're staying, but I just looked up the ART rates: $4.00/day, $10.00/three days, $16.00/five days. Not too bad.

we found the art to be pretty unreliable time wise, but if you are not in a hurry then it is prob fine. we walked in but had the art pass for the ride home :)

We were put up there for D23 and it was a much better experience than previous stays (Disney tend to use the Hilton when the three on-property hotels are full).

I guess I'll look into the ART. I can't stand the idea of taking the car as it will easily waste an hour each morning (traffic, parking, tram ride, etc).

I'm used to staying on property but couldn't hack this go-round.

That was an entrance into the old DL parking lot, pre-DCA. At that time you could walk into the back of the old lot and catch a tram to the entrance, so the walk wasn't bad. Won't work now though.
