My hubby and I are going by OURSELVES! Thats never been done before (well, not since we had our daughter anyways) and it is so exciting. Now, normally, the thought of going without her would be devastating, BUT she is leaving us for a week to go off on a class trip. I was so sad and worried at the thought of her going off alone, I am definitely not diggin' on the idea! So, SHE suggested that "mommy and daddy" go to Disneyland, and she wouldn't even be upset! hehehe

Turns out, it just happens to coincide with our anniversary as well! Double *yay* So now I can't wait to plan a *romantic* getaway for 2!

LOL...should be an interesting combination...me (natural born worrier) watching my daughter go off on her own on one side....and the excitement of Disneyland on the other side. All I can say..... poor, poor Hubby!

And don't worry about your babygirl... She'll be fine. Just remember the school trips that you used to take (or maybe not... ;-)

She'll have adult supervision and you already know she's got a good head on her shoulders - you've raised her. No worries... :)

In all seriousness, she is a very good girl and extremely responsible. I'm actually NOT worried about her, its all the perverts out there that get me worried. I would feel a lot better if there were in-room chaperones, but there aren't.

With kids that age, the chaperones will be VERY watchful. Probably round everyone up and make sure they get into their rooms as scheduled and then do room checks to ensure everyone stays put.

DD is in the 6th grade, so I can relate to how worried you are. If we didn't love 'em we wouldn't worry so much. It's our job.

wonderingalice is right, you raised a good kid, and she'll be fine.

Plan your trip and have fun...nothing better than hotel sex, right? Ah, geez, I shouldn't have said that either. I'll go wash my mouth out with soap, and think about all the bad thoughts I've had this week.........

Well minus the teacher that did a faceplate while ice-skating at a mall and broke a tooth. But see that was the adults!! And we didn't have in-room chaperones..but trust me, the ones they have are just as good...they used to come do bed checks (they had the keys to the rooms) every 2 hrs ALL night long, they just kept waking us up! I'm sure she'll be a good kid even away from mom n dad.

And enjoy your trip to DL!!!)

OMGosh, I have tears coming down my face I am laughin' so hard!

Thanks Stacers76 for the encouragement. I am sure that she will be fine. This will be the 3rd time she's been away from home, without any family, for a week at a time. She was always fine then too! LOL...I'm the one that stresses for the week and doesn't sleep until she's back home again!

hehehe...oh, and back onto your topic Mollysmom, I was thinking the Grand would be n-i-c-e. It'll be our 16th anniversary, something to definitely *turns red and looks innocent* celebrate.

Don't forget to take notes, so we can have all the disgusting details upon your return.

In this day and age, a 16th anniversary is a BIG deal, so you guys deserve to splurge and pamper yourselves. Between work and kids and peeing rabbits, anytime we can fit a little romance in, well, you just gotta go for it.

If you're perhaps concerned about the cost, I can grab a big box here at work, and with a week or so notice, I bet I can carve up a passable rendition of the Grand for ya.
I bet wonderingalice would agree to be your consierge, too. (I think I spelled that wrong-it don't look right, but you know what I mean.)

And as for you Mollysmom, I have no idea how to reply to your comments without being permanently thrown off the boards and tarnishing my sterling reputation!

Although, if the Grand fails to work out, I am sure the two of you can proceed excellent accomodations w/all the benefits of a 4-star hotel!

LOL...ah, isn't it fun to make new friends...psycho as they may be.... *hehehehe*

PS..can't make the silly reservations yet, because I haven't gotten the trip dates yet...hopefully they'll be out within the next week or so! Also, hoping to get a good rate for a Mon-Wed trip or something like that!
