Is their auction pleasant to look at and easy to read? All of these points add up and hopefully you can see where you needed to improve your auction and you will be successful. Good Luck!

Well I love my Disney stuff and maybe it wasn't the time for them to go, but now I want to visit my daughter (who is a Marine and far away from me!) for her birthday in Sept so I am going to try again... Do you have any ideas on what might sell over other things? Thanks!

I think my grandparents have that same one! It's mostly blue, with gold lettering. It features the Jungle Cruise hippos, the entrance to TL, the Main Street Town Square, the Dunking of the Mayor at POTC, Sleeping Beauty Castle and... I can't remember what for Frontierland; Mark Twain? Do you have a link to that candy dish?

But the longer they spend looking at my stuff, the more likely they'll have it in their head to watch my item, place a bid, or "Buy It Now."

After I did the ebay thing last winter, I put everything back in the garage in a big container. I am HOPING to have everything out and ready to photograph next week. I used to work for a place which did the same thing as ebay and I must admit I was truly amazed at the things that people bid on! So that's why I thought to try ebay and see what happens. By the way, does anyone know if we can put the ebay link on LP? I mean, with me my things will be strictly Disney, nothing else... Thanks!

You have to hit the right audience - make sure you have all the KEY words in the title ( harder than it sounds at times)- so searches will pull up items. I have sold some things I couldn;t believe on ebay and had lots of bidders, and on some quality items - there are less bidders and sometimes takes a while. Are you using the counter ? Have you checked to see how many people are even looking at the item. If it is very low, either there is little interest- or the title is not accurate enough to get people there. Also always, always end your auctions on a weekend when more people are on the system -- ending like on a Wednesday afternoon- bad . hope it helps some .... also be willing to ship anywhere ....I just sold a very expensive Hobbit petwer set from the early 90's ( pieces from $200 to $1100 each) - split the set and 75% went outside the US.... just some random thoughts

I am not sure it's necessarily true. Whatever the case, I like to see people bid on my items early... and drive it up instead of everyone waiting to put in a sniper bid at the last moment.

You may want to try ioffer.com. It's not an auction, it's a site where you list items at a specific price. However, you don't pay until they sell, so it's a good place for Ebay failures. vbdad is right about there being little "rhyme or reason." I've offered second-place bidders a chance to buy at their highest bids so many times, but they rarely bite. Now, ask me if I'd like a chance at an item for which I was outbid...! I'd love for there to be a Marketplace section added to the boards; I think we all have stuff that we'd like to sell and would like fellow LPers to know about. BUt I can understand why there isn't and why it's not allowed.

It would be a nice feature here to have a "wants" and "selling" area, but I also can see why they don't have that.
