Since it was reported 'unofficially', Disney didn't have to make any serious changes, but instead opted to temporarily shut down the ride and install scaffholding under it to create a wider walkway with rails. Around the sides of the scaffholding there are tarps with designs similar to the other leaves, which is supposed to make them blend in, but just looks a little clunky and out of place. The fix was supposed to be temporary, since it was done during a busy time of year and it would be difficult to close the attraction for an extended period of time, but there has been nothing to indicate that they are working on a more permanent solution.

Believe me, it looks just as bad from the top as the bottom. They've built a whole extended layer under the leaves and put the guard rails on the edge of that. It looks really tacky and unprofessionally done. However, I can't see as how the change has affected the ride's popularity. 20 minute waits on a weekday in January!
