Used 60,000 miles for the plane ticket, booked 3 nights at the Hilton Tokyo Bay for under $200 a night (we get one night at the Disney Ambassador hotel as part of the package, which is nice since I've never stayed there). The event registration fee is less than I've paid for events at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I'm waiting to see what the limited edition merchandise is going to be. I usually avoid the auctions because the prices go crazy high, but sometimes a bargain can be had--particularly since this is the first event of its kind over there. Typically, the prices for auction items get higher with subsequent events. Also, you can often get a bargain at the silent auction. Just requires vigilance. I love the whole atmosphere of these special events--they're fun. I suppose most people think it's crazy to go so far for one, but I find the 14 hour plane flights very peaceful.
