I guess they're not very good cars. I'd love to get somehthing like a Chevy Equinox or Ford Edge but they're out my price range. As are the Honda CRV and Toyota Rav 4 and the Nissan Murano. I might check out the Nissan Rogue too, but that's a little higher than I want to pay. Now the Kia Sportage is something I like, however Kia might be going out of business. And everything I read said while it's a good car, the Tuscon is a tad better.

Even Saturn, owned by GM, manufactured in Tennessee, had parts manufactured in different countries. It's not easy buying American anymore :-(.

The only negative I can think of, a colleague had a Coupe and someone backed into him in a parking lot, and it nearly wrote off the car (though the are designed in an accident to do that to protect the passengers). They are fuel efficient and cheap to repair as they get older. I would say read reviews, take it for a test drive, and if you like it, buy it. I'd love to hear what you think. FWIW, another colleague had a state of the art, top of the range Toyota 4x4, and then opted for the Hyundai. He prefers his Hyundai. I think that is a really big kudos as Neil is into cars and technology.
