Any possibility Star Wars Fireworks at DHS will be extended? Any new animatronics? I will miss Remy at Chefs de Paris, think I first heard about him here. Never did get to see Luxo, Jr., he was never working. Hope there are still some LPers who like to help those of us who can't come to WDW regularly.

I always take the view that whatever I don't see thins time I will see next time. I know when you don't visit often you don't have that luxury. Maybe there is someone here who really gets into that level of detail for WDW like they do for Disneyland. Good luck.

In addition to Rivers of Light, the safari will have nighttime trips once the park extends its hours; they've been adding lighting and new animals for a while to prepare for this

Disney just announced on Friday that the Star Wars fireworks will be modified into a more permanent show, including projections on the buildings and will use a brand new launch area (that's actually on the other side of World Dr from the park). They're also going to have some sort of Star Wars show during the day on the stage in front of the Chinese Theater and various other Star Wars events throughout the park:

As for new AA's, the finale of Gran Fiesta Tour recently got upgraded with AA's leftover from Mickey Mouse Review (originally at MK, later at TDL). It's relatively minor, but they're really well done and make the ride feel more complete

Depending when in the summer you visit, the new Soarin' film and Frozen ride (replacing/updating Maelstrom) should be up and running as well

When was your last visit? I'm trying to think of other things that will be new to you

It will have been 2 years. We got to see the new FL. We do plan to check out the new Jungle Ride themed restaurant. I see now Rivers of Light will be opening 4/22 but even so there seem to be very few details of how that will work. The safaris sounds fun - will have to do that for sure. I wonder how late the park will stay open and how crowded it will be. Last time we were there they were trying out Harambe Nights, which we really enjoyed but I guess it was not a big hit. Thanks for the link. I am excited about the fireworks show and all those new things in Epcot will be fun.

    Thanks.

As for how late DAK will be open, they've been sketchy on the details but it sounds like they're planning on at least 2 shows of Rivers of Light nightly (roughly 9:00 and 10:30). From what they've said, it sounds like a lot of the area atmosphere (particularly in Harambe) will be similar to what they did for Harambe Nights, so you may be in luck for that. I think the add-on event was probably too expensive for most guests, and park operations would now make it prohibitive, but it seems like they'll be using some of their successes as inspiration moving forward

Glad to be able to get back on the boards. Thanks for the info. Wahooskipper, what resort was that with all those great views?

Looks like now there is no new opening date for Rivers of Light. Anyone know different?

Yes, I guess Harambe Nights was expensive but for us it was very special. We got to see David Alan Grier do the Lion King retelling (with live music and dancers), lots of great food, and we stumbled by accident on an artist they had brought in for the night (evidently a different one each night) before anyone else seemed to and after a pleasant chat DS bought a picture that we had admired during the day, having no idea we would meet he artist later that day, which the artist personally inscribed (Simba and Mufasa for grandson's Lion King themed room - perfect!).
