We have tried the Ariel's Grotto and Carthay WOC package. With both, you do need to stand and with both you need to get there early to get a decent view.
This summer we chose to bypass the "fastpass" and just sat on the ground in front of the little store across from the Little Mermaid ride. Everyone waiting there was sitting. When WOC started people started standing up so everyone had to stand to see, BUT there was plenty of room to move around and honestly the view was better for me than either of the reserved viewing (I'm short:)
