As for the drinks outside, they will probably still wristband everyone, but it could be difficult to monitor, so those may go to the wayside.

I will be interested to see how this works out. Not an all bad idea, I don't think.

Back in April, I was able to carry drinks around to my heart's content.

There are at least three bars on the street that I can remember: outside the Adventurer's Club, outside the Comedy Warehouse and on the corner across from the small stage (near Mannequins).

PI, like much of WDW, isn't what in once was. The only times I ever see it busy are when they have big groups of conventioners and on Thursdays when CMs get in for free.

I think this is designed to get more families to walk thru, which is really sad as it is an adult venue. I read somewhere that the shops have had kids merchandise added, while many of the unique stuff is gone. Yep, just what PI needed -- a place to buy Pooh plush and princess costumes.

Last time I was at PI (over a year now) there were bars on the street, people walking around with drinks everywhere, women selling Jello shots from trays, people smoking everywhere, obnxious drunks on the prowl...not a place you would want your teen to be walking through after a movie with her friends at the AMC. Nope.

And in the Orlando Sentinel story the spokesperson basically said it was to get people who wouldn't normally pay to go to PI (like most families with sense) to walk through and shop and eat (and drink) there.

The access things is way overrated. You can walk around the perimeter or drive over. If Disney was concerned about this, they wouldn't have closed the Westside bus stop a few years ago in a money-saving/time-saving move. They could offer shuttles (by bus or water) between the two. No, they are looking for ways of increasing revenue. Pure and simple.

That bus stop was always like a ghost town whenever we went there, really not surprised they got rid of it to be honest.

As is the PI bus stop, unless it happens to be at least 11 pm or so.

Having to show you Anuall Pass, ID, at every club the lines got huge. Plus You then had to deal with the lines stoping when a person who didnt pay blockignt ewh whole line to have the addmision policy explained to them.

The streets wre defianly more crowded than they had been in a while. But they are going to have to work out how to better get peopel into the clubs.

They need to have either a wristbanding location where peopel who have bought the tickets can get their bands and have a way to go into the clubs wihtout having to show their ticket and ID every time.

Cuase what they were doing, if you wanted to buy a drink from the outside carts and did not have a wristband, they just check the ID and sold it to you. You only got the wristband fater they checked you ID and ticklet to enter a club.

Now once you had that, why did they then make you wait int he same line very single time you tried to enter the clubs is beyond me.

The problem is they check your tickets and ID at EveryCLub, EVery time you want to enter.

I wanted to get a bottled coke from Dezertz last night, so i walked out of Manaquiens, even thought almost everyone in line already has wristbands, and had already been inside, it took almost 20 minutes to get back in, cuase they re-ID's and checked the tickets on everyone.
