But I'm just curious about what happens to those who are caught.

My response to that situation was usually to say, "well, it seems your appearance has changed since we took the picture originally so we're going to retake it today and issue you the new passport with your current appearance on it. In fact, to compensate you for your time in retaking the picture I'll give you a pass to go on the attraction of your choice without waiting in the queue." Generally they confess that it isn't really them and the passport is revoked. What followed was usually a phone call from the REAL AP holder who tried to convince me that they didn't know their pass had been stolen or that it was taken without their permission. If it was stolen and a police report was filed then the passport isn't revoked. If there's no police report and the passport wasn't reported stolen to Disneyland, they're usually out of luck. Unfortunately this is an all too common occurance. Generally at least a passport a day is revoked for this reason. Several more for shoplifting. Buy a one-day passport for crying out loud. I know that there are Cast Members who would miss this on entry and let her use it, but is it worth getting the passport revoked? Also, Guests can theoretically be arrested for using someone else's passport and (not that I think this would be the case with the original poster by any means, just general info) if the Guest is being a real you-know-what about insisting the passport is theirs they can and will be first asked to leave and then second, if they don't leave, arrested for trespassing. Seriously. Buy a one-day passport. It's easier on everyone.

When I worked there 15 years ago, we would arrest at least one person every day for 18-8. Some days we would get a lot. Now, looking back, I wonder why anyone would risk it, to get into THAT park? Overheard in jail: Thug #1: "I robbed a family at gunpoint. What are you in for"? Thug #2: "I rolled a handstamp."

Sure it was there, I searched the entire locker room and it was gone, so I went to City Hall of course and had to pay $20 for a new one. Luckily though, thanks to some kind soul, it was turned in to Lost & Found and I had it back in my possession that night. Disneyland had already addressed it and they planned to mail it the following day; they also refunded my money for the new pass I had purchased. I'm a so grateful no one tried to use it within the time I didn't know it was missing. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my pass, it's my reward every few weeks after working hard.

DL should simply make the person who colaims their pass was stolen file a report after being notified and support disney in prosecution. I'd wager most people who were trying to cheat the system wouldn't have the guts to press charges against a friend.

I just worry that if I happened to loose my pass and didn't know it, I'd still be able to get one if I got there and paid my $20, rather than find out I was out of luck for the 3 to 4 passes I paid for ( I wouldn't let anyone else use theirs without me ) or worse forever revoked.

"but she used it all day!" well.. honestly anyone who doesn't want to lose their job will ask you for your ID if it isn't you. That's why there's a photo on it. =) My photo on my AP is like 3yrs old and I've lost some weight in the face.. as annoying as it can get sometimes, I'm glad when the person at the turnstiles does a double take.. I know they are doing their job right! =) I say good on ya Disney! I wish all the CMs were doing the same thing.

It is VERY high. I don't see anything so horribly wrong with a mom trying to slip in with her daughter's AP if that is the only way she will get a chance to experience DL with her son. I'm just saying, in some cases it doesn't seem like that huge of a crime.

So while you don't think it's that huge of a crime, doesn't make it so. The sense of entitlement and the ability of some to justify nearly anything never ceases to amaze me.

There is a huge difference between stealing a porsche and letting your mom use your pass to get in to a park that you regularly contribute to. I also didn't say that it is okay for everyone to do, just that I would be able to turn the other cheek in certain situations, that's all. Don't worry, I don't work at the turnstiles, I'm sure you are glad about that.
