It's unfair to those that did occasionally feel excluded to say that they didn't have any reason to feel that way.

Personally, it never affected me, if I didn't understand something I put it down to me and moved on. The vast majority of LPers were/are wonderful people and I have fond memories of so many of them. I actually find it odd that other people have posted that they felt excluded because I really did think it was because of my location that I sometimes felt that way.

Also, conversation was often very West Coast-centric (even on non-Disney sections like Community) so as someone who'd never visited DL I often found it difficult to join in.

As I said previously I made some great friends through LP and never once had a bad experience dealing with an LPer in real-life!!!

I'm sure that everyone had no idea that this was happening. It did become clear though that when certain key members stopped posting the rest pretty much all stopped as well.

Things moved on and people have come and gone but the board lost a lot when all those posters abandoned ship. But life is constantly changing so no one need feel sad about that...one goes where they feel the most comfortable.

WOW! I cannot remember the last time I was on a thread that even MADE it to 100 posts. Congratulations.

I remember when I first came on in 2005. I posted simply and rarely and just tried to work my way in.
When something was obviously an inside joke I would say, "Hey, that sounds like and inside joke." Someone would post an explanation.
I was a PAP holder those years and made it to lots of meets. I really, really, like meeting people face to face.
I never really felt excluded. I really miss some of the people I used to chat with often. I also miss keeping up with people's lives in Community. That is how I got to know folks.
I have always pretty much avoided WE like the plague.
As I said earlier; I refuse to give up on LP. I will stick around unless or until the light goes out.

This seems to have become more prevalent in the past few years. Some Disney sites do not permit such behavior and Laughing Place didn't use to either. But some times it seems as though there are a few, here, who try to control moods of all by working to discredit the reputations of others. There are only a few who do this but it's still enough to ruin the soup for all. It would be best to simply avoid those who are toxic to you and speak only to those whom you're in sync with--unless you're mature enough to speak kindly to others even when they disagree with you.

Wait... is this a pond, or a soup? Or are we swimming in soup?

    I'm confused...

    Oh, my. It'd be Duck(ling) Soup! O8

It's been great fun for the most part. I never attended a "meet" or felt part of any group. I did meet up with other posters once, a decade or so ago, and that was fun.

I enjoy feeling part of the whole community, where there are fun things like 101 Dalmatians, Goat Tricks, and disneyisgoingdownthetoilet.com.

I consider World Events to be a separate kind of place. I'm passionate about my beliefs and continue to share my thoughts and defend my faith there. I've acted in ways I regret from time to time, and have always tried to apologize or make amends.

I used to listen to the Podcast all the time. I loved the trivia game on the site. I don't have as much time to give to it anymore. I travel to Disneyland much less often, unfortunately.

But overall I love LP. I'm glad that Doobie and his gang can keep it up.
