If so, you're one of those grownups who still find children's shows entertaining. I do not mean the "tween" shows like JESSIE or SHAKE IT UP, or the SPONGEBOB or PHINEAS AND FERB-type cartoons. I mean the shows for the younger folks, like SESAME STREET, or DORA, or DOC McSTUFFINS, or JAKE AND THE NEVERLAND PIRATES, or BARNEY AND FRIENDS. I believe these programs are devised not just to appeal to the little folks, but to the parents too. So are you one of those grownups (with or without kids) who watches the kids fare on Disney Channel, PBS, Nickelodeon, Sprout etc.? Come out of the closet and admit it.

SESAME STREET I enjoyed in my younger days....now it's for all intents and purposes the Elmo show. Nick is now largely the Spongebob channel, especially since iCARLY and VICTORIOUS have ended. I only recently discovered Sprout. I had seen an article in The New York Times about how Sprout had show an increase in its audience. The article was accompanied by a picture of Chica the Chicken, the puppet star of the channel's morning program block, THE SUNNY SIDE UP SHOW. I thought she was a cute character, so I watched it one morning, and I was hooked from then on. I loved Chica's squeaky voice and her antics with her human sidekick, a pigtailed perky girl named Kelly, who I fell in love with instantly. Then I discovered THE GOOD NIGHT SHOW, starring another adorable sweetheart of a hostess named Nina, and her puppet side kick Star, who sing , tell stories and whatnot in such a way as to help the toddlers, or "Sproutlets", get ready for bed, in between episodes of such shows as THOMAS AND FRIENDS, CAILLOU and POPPY CAT. For me it's gotten to the point where I go to bed just after I hear Nina sing: "Hey okay We had another fantastic day But now it's time to say Good night 'Cause we got places to go Bubbles to blow Stories to share And dreams to grow So good night.... Good night.... Good night"
