"After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together." << I feel bad for Maria. I've always liked her and wondered how she was able to do it. Especially given the strong and likely rumors about Arnold's womanizing. I suspect that this has been brewing for years, and they were waiting for a good time. This is it - he's done with public office, presumeably for good, and a respectful amount of time has past since the death of Maria's parents. The four kids are older and can likely deal with the reality of the break-up. Also, during Arnold's terms as governor, he was spending a lot of time in Sacramento, while Maria and the kids remained in LA the entire time. Now that he's no longer governor, he likely was spending more time at home and the possibility of them getting on each others nerves after being largely apart for so long just made it more apparent that they couldn't continue on together. Of course this is all speculation on my part, but let's see how long it takes til Arnold shows up in public with 20-something chippy on his arm. My best wishes to Maria - now go soak him for hundreds of millions of dollars.

No big "breaking news" either. They were waiting to see if the devastation was "worthy". (in fact, it SEEMED, though I can't confirm, that they were waiting for the first report of DEATHS before they went with it). I'm so disgusted with the media these days, I can't even express it properly.

And of course stinkin' rich. Also - many of the usual suspects around here are residents of California, and Arnold has been a perennial topic with us over the last several years. When I bother to speculate, it seems to me that the ride is pretty much over for Arnold. He's too old to be an 'action' star, and he never was much of an actor. So the movies are probably done and over. And he has no real support for holding elective office ever again - mostly because he's more reviled by his own party than his opposition. So what's left - maybe a sitcom?
