I'm finding it impossible to get advance reservations because I procrastinated. I do have some, but I'm missing a few I really wanted. Which is making me worry about crowds.

Can any locals tell me how the crowds are now?

If that link doesn't work try http://www.touringplans.com and look for the crowd calander.

The problem with dining, is that you are going during the free dining promotion, so EVERYONE (nearly) has sit down dinner in the evening. In the summer that wouldn't be true.

We were there mid-September of last year and I remember a guy in the lobby speaking to dining reservations. They were telling him in a nice polite voice, "No, sir there are NO reservations available in ANY resteraunt in the Studios tonight, unless you want to dine after 9pm. Would you like to make a reservation for lunch instead?"

Its my fault for procrastinating on booking my meals. I forgot you could book 180 days out, I was thinking it was 90 days, and by the time I got around to it, the good restaurants were all booked up. But I hadn't thought of booking really late dinners, so maybe I should look into that. I only had them check "typical" dinner times.
