See, the thing is that I really want to score this job, so I would love to know what they ask exactly so I can then practice my answers, and hopefully increase my chances of getting hired. You should be yourself, as simple as that sounds. Possible questions include: Why do you want to work at Disneyland? What's your favorite Disneyland memory/Disney character/Disneyland attraction and why? Tell me about a time when you used excellent customer service to solve a problem. How would you handle a Guest who was very upset about a closed/broken attraction/restaurant/shop, etc. Do you have any cash handling/customer service experience? Basically they are looking for you to show your personality, not to give a perfect or pre-selected answer. The questions will not be something you can memorize an answer to, but they'll make you think on your feet. If you start thinking now about favorite memories or experiences then you'll be ready for that question and it's almost inevitable! In a group interview it is best if you answer some questions first, some last, and definitely pay attention to the other interviewees while they give their answers. If you can piggy-back on one of their answers all the better because it shows good listening skills, too. Don't stress too hard about the interview, even though that's easier said than done. You'll increase your chances of getting hired if you show your enthusiasm, are willing to take any role even though you get to state a preference for departments, and remember that every role is as important as the next. I wish you the best of luck!! Go make some magic!

The first time I applied (back in the Stadium Towers building, for anyone who remembers applying out there), it took nearly 2 months to get an offer (dishwasher/busser at $5.15 per hour, CT only), and then, my start date was not for another 2 months. Don't worry about anything like that--if they want you (and they do!), they'll want you very soon.

Certainly NOTHING wrong with that, work is work, but it seems to me if you're one of those people (and since you're on these boards, I'm guessing its true ) that loves the Disney experience and really want to be a part of the 'magic' along with good customer service skills and no police record (again, the last one maybe they let slide now) then you should be a shoe in. It seems to me the resort has let their standards slide a lot in terms of who they hire. Again, that's okay, as long as they show up and do their jobs, but there just doesn't seem to be the enthusiam for the job as once was. I guess that pathetic pay is one .

So that's why I wanted to remember what they ask you in the interview since I had forgotten. Oh, and no I know that memorizing an answer isn't the best idea, but it does help calm your nerves knowing what to expect! See, I'm a really outgoing guy, but during interviews (especially group interviews) I panic (also because I sufer from anxiety,) but this won't get in the way of me being a good cast member since I would LOVE to work there so bad. So thanks guys! When I applied it was in 1999/2000, and then the last time I applied it was in 2001 (if I remember correctly.) I wonder if things have changed in the way they hire now?

From the folks I talk to, it looks like there will be unending overtime in virtually all departments all summer long--and that only happens when there is a serious staff shortage. So good luck--you should be fine. Just don't go in looking like a freaky addict (I MUUUUUUUUUUUUUST work here, you don't understand!!!!! <crying loudly> Disneyland is my liiiiiiiiiiiiife!!!!!!!) and you'll be fine.

I was offered Parking Lot at first and declined it and it was only after going into management and working in that area that I realized how totally great it is! Fun, interesting, GREAT Cast Members...always be open to new experiences!

Well, anything but register work. Blah!

Originally Posted By imadisneygal When I started in Guest Relations there were VERY few direct hires into the department. Lost and Found is a location within Guest Relations and it requires special training. Most CM's who were hired to work in Lost and Found had no intention of becoming Tour Guides and they stayed in Lost and Found. Tour Guides were utilized to assist Lost and Found but very few Lost and Found CM's went on to become TG's. The way that most Tour Guides became Tour Guides was to transfer into the dept. I have no idea how they are doing things now, but I have heard that they still mostly transfer. Things are different around Guest Relations now compared to the early and late 90's when I was there. Park and Resort knowledge is great, but the role is more about your personality and your ability to deal with Guests, stress, and learning long scripts. The basic tour script was 15 pages when I memorized it, and it has been revamped several times since then. You could always call Casting and ask them if Guest Relations is hiring from the outside at all. They will likely know. Good luck to you! Being a Tour Guide was great and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Also, if 3rd shift doesn't want me, will I still be able to work somewhere else since I did good in my first interview? Or if they don't get me does that mean I'm out completely? :/
