Since our plans include a day at the Reagan Library. I'd like to find a beach located between Simi and Anaheim. Someplace along the way back or not too far off the route back to the resort. We will not be swimming because this is fall trip, and we're Wyoming people ;)

Any suggestions? Thanks for any ideas!

Probably the easiest to navigate would be to take the 118 Fwy to the 405 Fwy. As you travel south, about midway, you'll see signs for the Santa Monica Fwy (west). Take that and you'll end up at the beach. There are many locations, some of them fairly quiet, and pay parking lots you can park in and take a walk on the beach.

There are other beaches to the south, off of the 405 and maybe other LPers can help you with a more convenient location.

If you do the Santa Monica route, on the way back, you would need to pick up 91 or maybe 605 to get you back to the 5 fwy and Anaheim.

It sounds like it will be a lovely, romantic trip. Please keep us posted and let me know if you need more information.

Also, The Getty Museum is close to Simi Valley - although not a beach, there are some very beautiful spacious spots there which could be a great backdrop to your proposal.

There are also many beautiful restaurants that offer a great view of the beach or the valley - a night time reservation would showcase the valley beautifully.

If at DL, may I suggest Tom Sawyer's Island? You could be gazing at the water hand in hand in a private spot and then "Bam" - you're engaged. Or, over by Snow White's wishing well.

If you really want to make a quiet day of it, I might suggest Bolsa Chica. They have bonfire pits and it's a HUGE state beach so it won't be crowded. A twilight bonfire proposal sounds good to me!

Castaways over looking burbank, but definitely in front of the castle at DL would be unforgetable!

Whenever Super Shuttle takes that route...guaranteed a big tip from me! But I have also driven it myself many times.
