IMO, this is the most memorable song from the film (even though "The Age of Not Believing" got an Oscar nomination). BTW, thanks for including "Lavender Blue (Dilly Dilly)", my all-time favorite Disney song, from "So Dear To My Heart", my all-time favorite Disney movie. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the list.

Thanks for reminding me the list is chronological. I couldn't imagine why "When You Wish Upon a Star" wasn't #1 on the list. Now I know why.

Actually, my fave song from that film was "Goodbye May Seem Forever", but in the film the lyrics are spoken instead of sung.

Why do people hate that song?

I'll admit that I haven't been to the Magic Kingdom since 1987 and that was the last time I took that ride. And I do understand that listening to that song in an infinite loop can get pretty annoying. But you can say that about any song. I really don't remember anything especially bad about that song or the ride.

And just to make you wonder, if I had rated the songs, "When You Wish Upon a Star" would have been #2. See if you can guess what I would have had as #1.

Sunita and Tycoon, what are your favorite songs? One of the fun things about such "best of" endeavors is to see what others would have picked.

And I miss Howard Ashman too.

Too bad that you couldn't put the music from the two Fantasias and "Peter and the Wolf" on your list since these are not original music made for Walt Disney because I always like the "The Sorcerer's Apprentice","Dance of the Hours" "The Chinese Dance" with the little mushrooms,"Carnival of the Animals"with that funny pink flamingo and his yo-yo,"Piano Concerto No.2,Allegro,Opus 102"(aka The Steadfast Tin Soldier),and "Pomp & Circumstance" with Donald & Daisy.
Speaking of Donald,I wished "The Donald Duck Song"("Who gets stuck with all the bad luck, no one but Donald Duck!"[Quack!]) was here too because that song sums up everything about Donald himself and is always heard at the beginning of the 50's & 60's Donald Duck cartoons.
Well, I can't wait to see the rest of the list so keep up the good work!

Kudos for some great choices: Three Caballeros, On the Front Porch, Everybody Wants to Be a Cat, Perfect Isn't Easy, Fortuosity, There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow are all top drawer.

I also would pick Beautiful Briny Sea over Age of Not Believing.

My favorite Disney song is definitely Part of Your World, but it just barely edged out Once Upon a Dream, the undisputed champ for 3 decades.

I guess that TK's favorite is Beauty & the Beast.
