Since Madagascar came out before it people are going to assume it's a rip off of Madagascar. I know the storyline differs from Madagascar but when we have the drama of C.O.R.E getting mad at Disney for almost not screening it for Critic's and being turned down by Toys R Us and other places for merchendising that would usually jump at the moment. The Wild is just a film that had too many problems that tore it apart.

    Actually the Wild fell only 17% this weekend and has made more than Valiant. That doesn't mean it's a good or bad film or is better than Valiant.

    HOWEVER...

    I took the kids to see the Wild this weekend.

    1.) Plot, nice beginning, the rest weak.
    2.) Animation quality C-
    3.) Length B
    4.) Originality F
    .....I'm not sure who beat whom to the theater, Madagascar or what, but the Wild was waaaaay too similar with a weaker cast and a terrible, predictable ending.

    Terrible.

I mean the scenes with the baby lion resting on the branch were fantastic... but overall I think they tried to put too much in the film and some of the stuff could/should have been edited out to make a stronger story -- remember, less is more.

    But it was nice to hear William Shatner's voice as a villian - kind of a Kahn thing from Star Trek. ;o)

    Hey, at least the tie-in McDonald Happy Meal Toys are kind of fun. :eek:)
