This notion that negativity, even among people like Jon Stewart, is basically an argument for conservatives, because if you're negative about government, you're playing into conservative dislike of government. I also love what he said about Michele Bachmann: half the Republicans are crazy like her, the other have are scared of losing to someone crazy like her in a primary, so the party becomes a right-wing madhouse.

He gives ammo to both sides, skewers both sides and makes a good observation about why there's no compromise anymore. The left watches MSNBC, the right watches Fox, both outlets preach to the choir, everyone each side knows agrees with them, so why meet in the middle?
