Isn't there something a bit odd about leaving your kids with Adam Sandler and trusting him to tell them wholesome bedtime stories??

I know he certainly wouldn't have the job at my house!

By the way, after watching the trailer for this Christmas movie I have to say it did make me laugh, but the whole idea of Adam Sandler in that role sent a little chill down my spine.

It's wrong to equate his family life with his on-screen persona. I'm sure he's a wonderful father. However, he often plays irresponsible characters in films and that casting does make this an odd choice in my opinion. I'm not commenting on the real-life person, Adam Sandler, but the types of characters he has played.

In some cases, no. Given his prior films, I would have to preview the movie before letting children see it, regardless of the Disney branding. The trust is not there. That can change, but it's certainly not there for me right now. I might rent it, but it would not be a theater-night family outing when I have no idea what we're about to see.

This is not a jab at who Adam Sandler is in real-life by any means. However, there are only a few cases where I would let the characters he's played tell bedtime stories to my kid.

I'm glad all of you so far are great champions for Adam Sandler movies. I am not. I hope Disney made a good gamble on y'all.

The movie doesn't look that bad, actually. Not that I would see it, but It doesn't look as bad as other "Adult Actor does a kids movie" films

Sandler needs to expand his film roles, and this looks like the property to do that. I hope it turns out good.

Of course, I can understand if your simply not a fan of Sandler lol.
The only problem would probably be that if a child liked him or the movie and tried to seek out more on the internet, it could lead them to other projects he has done which are less family friendly.
