Even though I hate DVC and think WDW is too commercialized I appreciate these "magical" things...

The MK existing at the edge of a lake and not a parkinglot.

The mural in the main street railroad station that shows the history of transportation in one painting.

A tomorrowland that not only has the carousel of progress, but a peoplemover, and rocket jets atop the station.

One of the best HM's in "the world" regardless of the extended graveyard queue.

A well refurbished hall of presidents. A tiki room that will use updated 21st century technology and digitally restore a classic show.

The world showcase, and EPCOT at night.

    The original tower of terror.

    The animal kingdom.

The themed resorts, the seven seas lagoon excersions, the electrical wa-wa pageant, the CM's that smile and are willing to help, the jaw drop of a child's face, the smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls in the morning on main street.

These are one of the many things I still find great at WDW.....WDW may not be my favorite resort, but there are still things I appreciate.

Excuse we while I go hold some vintage wdw shopping bags and listen to an lp of MSEP.

I also love when I go to AK, and Epcot to stop and look at the things that Disney puts in that most people just walk by. So many people in a hurry to ride that ONE attraction that they have to get a fastpass for, they tend to miss all the wonderful touches.

As some people would say I stop to smell the roses.

Yes, WDW still has IT. It just hasn't added IT in a while.

arriving at Epcot via monorail - the best "entrance" to a theme park I ever experienced

the animal trails at the Animal Kingdom

the lobby of the Animal Kingdom Lodge (or even the whole resort)

    background music on Main Street

my favourite version of Tower of Terror

there are quite a few more, these are just the first ones who came to mind.

And since I haven't been so often yet, I still find new things on every visit - and that's part of the magic for me as well: looking forward to explore something new!

YESSSSS, forgot that one. Love the area around Boma and Jiko. Also the lounge off the right of the lobby.

Here are some other instances of je ne sais quoi that I can remember from my visits:

    - the horns of the ferryboats and water taxis from across Seven Seas Lagoon
    - after the first drop on Splash Mountain where the whole of Adventureland and Frontierland opens up before you
    - the boardwalk of Frontierland with the sounds of the riverboat and steam train in the distance
    - a virtually pristine Jungle Cruise and a superior version of the Haunted Mansion
    - (RIP) the twinkling trees of the Fantasyland courtyard
    - nighttime Main Street, USA with the (RIP) Summer Magic Medley playing
    - walking through the International Gateway
    - World Showcase

You can keep going on and on, but I'm at the least thankful that most of these things are still extant (and will continue to be) regardless of management. I understand these are some more "timeless" treasures, and I'm sure I would have more if I had visited before 2000.
