We planned the trip a little less than a month before going, not a ton of time but I have done much shorter notice trips in the past so this was nothing out of the ordinary for me. We arrived in Anaheim Dec 2nd and had a lovely dinner at Goofy's kitchen then a wander about Downtown Disney before heading back to the hotel to rest for our 3 days of Disney fun that were ahead of us. We get to the park on Sunday and are close to the front of the lines to be let in. When we go into the park we head straight for the castle to take advantage of the small crowds at this hour for some good photos of the castle. when we get there Matt asks the Photographer CM to take a picture, but disagrees about where she wants us to stand. It is not like him to argue with someone over something like this so I think its a little odd. He is firm in where he wants to stand and she says fine she will take the picture there... at that point he turns to me, sticks his hands in his pocket and my Prince Charming pulls out the most beautiful ring and asks me to marry him. I am just beside myself with delight as the photographer stands by and takes photos. The rest of the trip was fabulous too of course. We had planned to do a Discover the Magic tour later that morning, and found that we were the only 2 people on our tour. I could not find space in either of the other 2 days we were there to do it, and we are the only ones on Sunday. But the CM was terrific anyhow and played it up just as if there was a whole crowd there. We got to be goofy as we wanted and have the characters to ourselves. I showed Mickey my new ring and he was excited for us too. We saw the Candle light processional that night and it was wonderful. We found a spot just near the end of main street. Not a great view, but good enough and of course we could hear everything just fine. The rest of the trip was so much fun. Short lines for everything. We even started collecting fast passes to take home to put in the scrapbook to honour the time at DL when we didn't use them. Matt's only other trip to DL was during July 16-18 2005 so you can imagine his delight at being able to experience the park without crazy crowds. We must have ridden Space Mountain 7 or 8 times over 3 days, always in the front car. We enjoyed all our favourite things. We even sailed in the Wheelhouse of the Mark Twain. All through this trip I keep getting text messages and voice mails from friends at home who know what the plan was and are waiting to hear from me so they can congratulate us. When it does come time to head home our flight is cancelled and then the next flight they put us on is delayed. When we finally get home after the plane ride and the ferry ride after that. A few of our friends all secretly came to pick us up together and they bring streamers and flowers and a card and make even coming home a memorable and magical experience. I could not have asked for a better Disney trip.

Were you using your own camera, or was it a Disney camera?>> He was winging it, which is why I thought it was odd that he was trying to get the photographer to come to him instead of standing where she told us to. We had our own Camera, that he gave to the photographer but when I got the pictures back yesterday there was none of that moment there. We did get the photo's from DL that they took with their camera though and a very pretty frame too. The only thing that I found out after could have been a potential hitch was how he got the ring through customs...but that is another story =) It was a truely fantastic surprise and I could not have asked for anything more magical.
