Also, we will have check-in times at DL, DCA, and downtown Disney. Where would you post a check-in chaperone?

    Thanks!

In DL we have done a couple of places-all depending on the weather. You certainly would not want to be sitting outside in the rain. But as one who has had to do the sitting, you still would like to have something fun to look at!

We have sat in the Plaza Inn patio if warm, and inside if chilly. I like having a table that I can either use for eatin' or doing handwork such as cross stitch/embroidery.

I also like sitting on the "front porch" on Main Steet-lots of good people watching there! We have also used the benches along side of the castle-great if not too hot/cold.

In DCA-I personally would choose something that would be O.K. rain or shine. The Annimation building has in the center great places to sit, it is climate controlled, and if you get bored you can watch the big screens.

If you want to watch people too, you can park yourself across the way from Grizzly Rapids and watch people getting drenched. That would only work if the weather was permitting. I don't think that I would choose something on the backside of DCA as the kids would have to hike all the way back there to check in and I can't think of many places to sit out of the elements that would be enjoyable.

You could also park yourself at the hamburger place (name escapes me-the one with the plane coming out of it), sit inside if cold and rainy or outside if you are lucky enough for warm weather in March.

Downtown Disney, is a little tougher because the restaurants are not part of Disney-privately owned so you can't set up shop there all day and have them be happy about it.

Plenty of cement benches all around there to choose from just not much out of the elements.

Our HS will not be setting up check in spots in Downtown Disney.

I am looking for something easily recognizable for the students, but realized after dlkozy's post that we may want to think about weather!

I like the front porch idea, but what exactly would I tell the kids? Front porch under "?" What if someone is already there?? Love the Haunted Mansion area - so the benches in front of river of America?

Suzie Q, I think I'm remembering umbrellas over the tables at Coke Corner? That could work. How about that coffee place right in front of DCA - that railroad-silver-thingy?

My recommendation is the very large porch on the building next to coke corner. It is called Plaza Pavilion, but few seem to know that since it's food service closed many years ago.

That would be well protected from the elements. If it is a nice day, just use the tables in front of it. An added advantage is that you can hear the coke corner pianist playing. Also some of the characters show up near the piano during the day.

Every time I go I sit there and I never have a problem getting a seat.
Also, did you say you are going to have people there all day? Then the seat shouldn't be a problem because you will be trading out with a person from your group.

Also,>>My recommendation is the very large porch on the building next to coke corner. Also, I saw a lot of kids doing the cooking thing...don't know what it's called.... but it was on the porch at the Pavillion. Kids on the porch, parents standing below taking lots of pictures.

Tie a balloon on a chair and sit either on a bench outside the Plaza Inn (right there on MS so you can see all of the action)if the weather is nice-or tie the balloon on a chair inside of the Plaza Inn in the weather is not nice.

Then either way you are telling the kids Plaza Inn.

Our High School will be doing it a bit differently. We are all responsible for a certain # of kids (I think 2 rooms full or 8 kids), and we decide when we and where we will meet our own group.
