One of the families that will be attending is driving down from Oregon in their RV. They have one child, who jsut turned 16 a couple of months ago. She is both physically and mentally handicapped. She's in a wheelchair (which I understand has been nicely decorated for Mickey's Halloween Treat on the 20th, a family affair but there have been no hints as to what they're going as) and this past summer had some major problems with her ankles and this will probably be the last chance she'll have to go to Disneyland (it's a miracle she's lived this long). The last time they came, it was with parents and in-laws, not really into the Disney experience. This year will be different. *lol* This year there are many Disneyphiles in the group. She really, really wants to meet Mickey. One of our group is into scrapbooking and made a very special card for her, sent it to her and this is what her mom posted this morning: "Ah hem, I won't ask who did it, because you aren't going to tell me. But THANK YOU! I've been trying to think what to say, but I just don't know the right words. Thank you doesn't seem like enough. So instead I'll tell you what we did with the card. Rob and i told Manna that it really was from Disney. She totaly flipped! It went to school today for sharing. She carried it around all night last night and picked it up first thing this morning. For those who don't know, I got a card in the mail. This is what it says. The front has a picture of Mickey with the big 50 and a little Dopey. It says "The thrill of Disney" Inside has stickers of Donald, Pluto, daisy and Minnie, Goofy, and it says "We hear you're coming to visit us here @ Disneyland! We can't wait to meet you, Hopefully this card will let you fly (safely of course) See you real soon! Love, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and tinkerbell! My daughter is in heaven!! Mom, mom, mom, I'm gonna see Mickey this time, I just know it! He sent me a card! See, mom, mom, mom, look, it says my name! Mom, mom, mom, he gave me hearts on my name, see?" The last time they were here, she didn't get to meet Mickey. We'd like to do everything we can to make sure she meets him this time (since it will most likely be her last chance). Any thoughts or ideas? The two couples who are APs don't have kids, so we aren't up on character meetings. Thanks for any help you can send us.

I bet if someone gave the CM there a heads up before you enter the room, you might even get special treatment! We had 12 in our group and we all went into the room together. We discussed ahead of time which group would take pics first so it wasnt' a cluster while we were in there. We did individual families first, then the last was our entire group together. The CM's were very accomodating with our 4 cameras being passed back & forth! The only other advice I can give is to go to Toon Town as soon as it opens and go straight to Mickey's house. There won't be any line at all. Or if you happen to do Mickey's Morning Madness, go right over to his house after the little ceremony is over.

Just an idea.

Mickey and Minnie come to the party, you do a conga line and end up in line for photos. So if everyone wants to be in the photo- have to do the conga line! They will use your camera as well as their photographers. It's a great way to get a photo with Mickey AND Minnie.

That's MY girl!" *LOL* Mickey covered his mouth and did the body language snicker, so we were both cracking up... Then the three of us took our photo together and we both hugged the dickens outta Mickey - thanking him before we left. Meeting Mickey is definitely one of our must-do MAGIC moments every time we visit Disneyland, and his place is the best place!

But everyone had a great time and it was the best $100 I spent at DL. Toontown at Mickeys house (in the barn) is the best way to have less chaos with Mickey. But the at the party you get Mickey AND Minnie all dressed up in their party clothes. The kids also loved decorating their cakes. We also took home all of the collectible cups from the party. The boys like to use them at dinnertime to remind them of their trip.
